Born and raised in New York, Käla Mandrake has been photographing her life, her friends and the underground art and music scene since she was 15 years old.
In 1999, she began her own photography business providing for local musicians and performing artists.
2011 marks the official launch of Käla Mandrake's first photography book, UNDERGROUND, which depicts a truly intimate look into some of the unique and brave souls of New York City's underground scene.
She has been writer/producer and video editor for HBO, Cinemax and BBC America, and in February 2011, officially launched her own media production company while producing the promotional shows for the first season of HBO’s original series Game of Thrones.
