Käla Mandrake

KALA MANDRAKE has been working in television and film for over 6 years. She has been writer/producer and video editor for HBO, Cinemax and BBC America during the past 5 years and has worked on various shorts and full-feature films, including Hollywood director Doug Liman’s movie Fair Game in 2009. In February 2011, Mandrake officially launched KMUMP while producing the promotional shows for the first season of HBO’s original series Game of Thrones.

—PAST  PROJECTS —

In September 2011, Deepak Chopra hosted an event in Manhattan inviting people of all nationalities and religious backgrounds to celebrate Persian mystic poet Rumi. In association with Citizen Global and Creative (Re)Directors, Mandrake created a video encapsulating Deepak Chopra’s event “The Religion Of Love.”

In June 2011, Mandrake and Jenn Grauer, musician and award-winning HBO producer, collaborated as an HBO production team on a multi-media event to promote the release of Grauer’s edgy new single “Do You Call This Love.” The final product was a music video for Jenn Grauer’s song.

In 2010, Mandrake began to work closely with spiritual institution ROMEMU on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, culminating in this short tribute film honoring the fifth anniversary of Rabbi David Ingber’s dream come true. The film premiered at the Gabarron Foundation in New York City.

In June 2010, Mandrake produced, directed, acted in and edited the Behind-the-Scenes movie for world-known burlesque artist and singer Melody Sweets’ music video, which premiered exclusively at The Box in New York City.
